STOP PROPOSED "LUXURY CONDOS" AT 55 FRANCISCO STREET!
Whether it's called
1789 Montgomery or 55 Francisco
it's the same location

Fall, 2007 Update

City to release Environmental Impact Report any time now! Stop 55's hundreds of members and
legal counsel are fully mobilized and will carefully comb the EIR for any and all deficiencies.

Those deficiencies can be appealed and Stop 55 will take all legal measures
to ensure our seniors and our neighborhood are protected.

The Newest Example of a Bad Development by This Developer

The same developer who is pushing 55 Francisco wants to completely gut a historic building on the edge of
Jackson Square. See all the reasons why the proposed project at the Musto building has huge problems.
The 53-year-old community group, Telegraph Hill Dwellers, spells it out.

More traffic. More density. More noise.
Less public parking. Less A-permit parking.

Safety, health, quality of life concerns, light and air concerns for the Senior and Disabled community living as close as 45 feet away.

This historic area is already too densely populated!
The luxury condos are not compatible with the area!

More 700 - 1000 sq. ft luxury condos with no underground parking
in this congested area is not in the best interest
of the neighborhood or
the city of San Francisco.

This website has been developed to inform and recruit support in the neighborhood efforts to stop the development of a 51-unit condominium development. It is charted to be constructed on top of an existing parking garage located at the corner of Francisco & Kearny, directly adjacent to 230 units of senior, disabled and low-income housing. The neighborhood has banded together.

Our community is fighting this battle in the political arena as well as legally.

We have engaged land use specialist attorneys Sanger & Olson.
Just look at all the "changes" proposed by developers for our neighborhood! We must be heard!
